Supporting High Quality College Math Education in Ontario
What We Do
The Ontario Colleges Mathematics Council (OCMC) is a committee, mandated by the Coordinating Committee of Vice Presidents Academic (CCVPA) of Colleges Ontario, which functions within the guidelines of the CCVPA and reports to the CCVPA through the Heads of Interdisciplinary Studies (HoIS).
The membership the OCMC consists of at least one representative from every publicly funded college (faculty and/or administrators) in Ontario.
Our Mandate
The mandate of the OCMC is as follows:
- Provides a province-wide forum for discussion related to college mathematics education.
- Functions in an official capacity as the Ontario community college liaison subgroup of HoIS on mathematics education.
- Makes recommendations and carries out projects on educational policies and other objectives of a province-wide nature with respect to college mathematics education.
- Makes specific recommendations based on appropriate representation from all colleges on matters related to college mathematics education.
- Collaborates with HoIS, CCVPA, and other recognized operating committees as required to provide support on matters related to college mathematics education.
